Mrs. S (Kinder & 1st)
My name is Xoshilt Sutherlin (aka Mrs. S or Mrs. Sutherlin). This will be my 6th year working (4th year teaching MAC) at our beautiful school. I graduated from Cal State East Bay with my Bachelors degree in Psychology. I am currently in school to receive my teaching credential from CalState TEACH Fresno (1 more exam WOOHOO). I worked as a preschool teacher/director for six years then decided to step away from teaching to learn the admin side of an elementary school. Saint David School hired me as the school secretary in 2018 where I learned and grew for two years. As much as loved being behind the scenes, I truly missed being around kids and being in a classroom. When the position of K/1 teacher became available I resigned as school secretary and applied for the position. As scared as I was to take this risk, the school admin team at the time saw something in me and trust me to take on this new challenge. I became the new K/1 homeroom teacher and never looked back! This has truly been the BEST life journey I could have ever prayed for.
Kinder and 1st grade are the first real school experience that the little one's have. My job is not only to ensure their academic growth, but to also make school a positive learning experience for them. If the kids can not wait to come back the next day I'm doing my job as their teacher.

Mr. Calderon (4th & 5th)
I love making math accessible and enjoyable. I know sometimes it appears a bit daunting. My goal is that your child leaves here feeling confident, fearless in attacking new challenges. I like to have a light-hearted, energized atmosphere in the classroom, often using humor to make learning fun. On a personal level, I am in love with Diet Coke, suchi, paella and listening to rock music.
Here's to a super year ahead of learning and growing together, lots of fun. Let us make this an unforgettable year for your child! Best regards.
